t WASHINGTON PARK NOTES" s s E. Paul Waggoner, who with his brother Guy L. maintains the Three Ds Stock Farm, and young William- T. Waggoner H. are en route to Latonia, where they will see their Heelfly contest the Latonia Derby. The Waggoners then plan a trip to Boston, Rockingham, New York and back to Chicago for the Braddock-Lewis fight and the American Derby. Over the Top, which gave a public exhibition of his running qualities in a victory here several days ago, showed that he retains his form by the fine manner in .which he negotiated the Latonia Derby distance of ten furlongs in his private workout Tuesday morning. He covered the distance in 2:08, handily, being strongly restrained as he displayed an eagerness to travel faster. Gerald, which was timed in 1:30, went the first seven furlongs with the Furst Derby candidate. Eagle Pass also was sent a mile and a quarter Tuesday morning, but he was put to pressure the last part of the work, for which his time was 2:09. He seemed to tire some after going the first mile in 1:41. Eagle Pass also was. paced for seven-eighths. Cross S. accompanying him that far in 1:264,6. Reaping Reward completed his heavy training for the Latonia Derby by winning the Yacht Club Purse here Monday, while Murph breezed three-quarters in 1:19 Tuesday morning, and Military breezed three furlongs in :39. Although the suspension handed him at Churchill Downs does not expire, jockey Jack Westrope will be permitted to ride Over the Top at Latonia. Fermisison for Westrope to ride was granted to trainer B. B. Williams by the Latonia stewards. Basil James is to have the mount on Eagle Pass, while Alfred Robertson, contract rider for the Milky Way Farm, will go along to pilot Reaping Reward. Jockey Henry Hauer, under engagement to C. E. Davison, will return io the saddle here on Thursday, a. suspension handed him at Aurora expiring on that day. An arrival from Bay Meadows was C. H. Tobias, who brought with him the five-year-old Chancery, owned by James N. and John Crofton.
