t LAT0NIA TURF NOTES T $ $ Scoring eight victories during the first seven days of racing at Latonia, Willie Hanka topped the reinsmen for that period. 1 Porter Roberts comes next, with six winners. C. N. Finch returned Monday from Charles Town, W. Va., where he spent the week-end on business. Finch is the leading trainer at Latonia thus far, having saddled five winners to date. R. A. Kindred, trainer of the Lucas B. Combs horses, announced this morning that Woodberry is a certain starter in the 5,000 added Latonia Derby on Saturday. Jockey Jimmy McCoy has been engaged to ride the gelding. W. Wilkerson, young Louisville trainer, was called to his home because of the serious illness of his mother. . Apprentice Bobby Hutton, Cincinatti boy, whose debut at Latonia was delayed because of an attack of mumps, got into action for the first time Monday afternoon, having: completely recovered.
