MARS SHIELDS WORKOUT HOMEWOOD, 111., June 8. The Milky Way Farms Mars Shield, winner of the Texas Derby and the Kentucky Oaks, and one of the leading aspirants for the three-year-old filly championship, had a useful preparation for future engagements, which include the ,000 added Latonia Oaks, to be run July 10, when she breezed seven furlongs over a fast course at Washington Park here this morning in 1:32. The brilliant daughter of Diavolo and Discussion has not been to the post since her Kentucky Oaks victory at Churchill Downs, but trainer Robert McGarvey has a busy summer and fall program beginning with the Latonia Oaks, mapped out for her.
