NEVER BLUE started slowly, worked her way into contention gradually, responded gamely to hard urging in the stretch and finished gamely, wearing down SIR ALMADEL while drawing clear at the end. SIR ALMADEL broke fast, was sent into a long lead on the lower turn and, while holding on well, was not good, enough. KERRYLITE, rank at the post, was started from outside the stalls, lost ground by racing wide but was going well at the end. MY VALLEY raced extremely wide on the lower turn.
