HAPPY HOST, away nicely and having good speed, assumed a short lead early, moved clear while saving ground at the. stretch turn and held on strongly to withstand PIPERS TUNE. The latter, going in her best form, raced closest to the winner and came gamely in the closing drive. .DIVIDED SKIRT was unable ti reach a forward position early but finished stoutly when clear. MQONBURN, away swiftly, went well placed but could not threaten seriously. FOXO was under strong urging and had no excuses. SHEBANG wa" never troublesome: SOPHIA C. was held safe. BEWITCHED, in the thick of contention from the start, responded courageously when put to a drive, gained a brief lead and, finishing with excellent courage, barely lasted long enough. MY GOODNESS moved through on the inside rounding the turn, engaged, the "leaders and fought it out stubbornly to the enJ. KALEIDA, prominent from the start, was easily best of the others. JUSTDUN was rushed hard to take the lead, but flattened out badly when engaged. INDIANA could not better his position at any stage while on the outside. BALKONIAN raced evenly. PATIENT SAINT, squeezed back at the first turn, swung to the outside and closed gamely. JOLYON was held safe when the real test came. RACKETEER was placed on the outside for the start and was outrun.
