CARL took the lead at the first turn, was taken under restraint for tha first half, drew away into a long lead on the back stretch but was tiring badly at the end and doing his best to hold QUICK SALE. The latter, far back early, moved up with a rush on the lower turn, closed gamely in the stretch and was wearing down the winner at the end. KING TODAY lacked early speed, lost much ground while moving up, closed with a rush in the stretch and finished fastest. WONDER RUN lacked early speed. BEN MINTURN moved up fast on the inside entering the stretch but tired badly in the closing eighth. CHAGRIN showed a good effort. THISTLE NIRA tired badly.
