SUSPENSION, close up in the early running, moved up on the outside of SKIPPY McGEE entering tho stretch and, wearing down the latter, won going away. SKIPPY McGEE opened up a good early lead but was unable to resist the winner. HE DEVIL went well from the start and held on in courageous fashion. SANTA MARITA, close to DENVER LAD in the early running, came fast in the stretch to catch the latter near the end and win in a drive. DENVER LAD went to the front at once and, saving ground, raced gamely to the finish. WAR DIMES made up ground gradually to close well. PROBATIONER was going well at the finish. BEAVER, probably best, was blocked several times while attempting to get through on the inside and his rider was unable to get him from the rail to find racing room in the last eighth.
