LADY GENIE, kept well up from the start and saving ground throughout, responded well to strong Vrging in the stretch and under superb handling, overhauled SILVER FLEET. The latter, going in its best form and sent into a slight lead after three-eighths, continued gamely but could not withstand the winner. MOHAWK CHEROKEE showed a good effort and finished fast. NIGHT EDITION lacked early speed, went around his field while moving up and closed with a rush. TONEY DOO had speed for a half mile, then quit badly. Won easily; second and third driving. FAIRFLAX, quick to get into stride and alertly handled, was hustled into the lead soon after the start and, continuing well, held SWEEPING BLAZE safe. The latter, well up from the start, made a determined bid after entering the stretch but could not resist the winner. GATO saved ground throughout but was unable to improve its position. STANDS ALONE closed strongly under urging. MR. DEINS made up some ground. BLACK NOAH, close up and under steadying restraint until straightened out of the stretch, responded readily when vigorously shaken up and, continuing gamely, held ATINA safe. ATINA was weakly handled in the closing stages and with a stronger ride might have been the winner. JACK GREENOCK, hard urged, iaved ground and just lasted for the show. SWALE, far back for three-quarters, closed with a rush in the final quarter and finished strongly. ARNOLDS ACTOR came from far back. JOY SWEEP broke fast, set a good pace but tired. The latter stumbled right after the start, was far back and, forced wide at the stretch turn, closed wtih tremendous speed. GENEVRA M. was well up all the way and showed a good effort. The latter was close up throughout and continued gamely under strong urging in the final stages, WOODBERRY was sent into the lead after three-eighths, drew clear, but faltered when challenged. ARABS ARROW, hard hustled throughout, held on with good courage, though tiring. DNIEPER encountered interference rounding the lower turn, recovered quickly, but tired after reaching contention. MOANDMO set a brisk pace under light restraint, responded to urging in the stretch, but could not withstand the winner. BRILLIANT LIGHT forced the pace most of the way and held on gamely. BRILL displayed a fine effort. BARBARA J. could not keep up in the first three-quarters, but made up some ground. CAMPAGNA tired after five-eighths. Scratched 425313Gillie, 110. NOVETTE broke well, drew into the lead rounding the first turn but was no match for the winner and was bearing out in the final eighth.
