Fountaine of Ottawa, Ontario, filed an application to ride on the tracks under the jurisdiction of the Province of Quebec Racing Association. The condition books for the coming meet-i ing of the Back River Jockey Club are in the hands of the printers and will be ready for distribution the first of this week, N. DArcy purchased the homebred Smoke Ring from D. J. Mulligan at private terms and he raced in his interest in the opening event on Friday. DArcy left the plater in charge of O. J. Mulligan, local trainer, L. Tassier purchased the homebred colt Lashaway from F. Thompson at private terms and turned him over to trainer H. Gibson.
