LANCASTERS INITIAL CARD Big Crowd Attends Opening Day at Ohio Course Persuader Outstays Trio of Opponents. LANCASTER, Ohio, June 26. In a stirring stretch drive, during which the first four horses raced closely lapped, R. E. Spicers Persuader got up to earn the verdict by half a length in the Inaugural Purse,-featured event of the initial days racing at the Fair Grounds this afternoon. Ideal conditions prevailed and a capacity crowd witnessed the sport. Ray X., Dona Barona and Pun led throughout in their respective races to score handy victories. Thistle Dick and Betty Rejoice both came from behind, in the stretch to earn brackets. Miss Betty fell while breezing here this morning and suffered injuries that will prevent her starting for some time.
