SWING CORNERS forced the early pace, took the lead on. the lower turn, held on well in the drive and outlasted KANSASCITIAN. The latter, poorly ridden, broke slowly, worked his way up on the inside on the back stretch, came to the outside in the stretch and might have won under a better ride. FLODUR broke fast, took a short lead at the first turn, saved ground all the way, but tired in the final eighth. ULTALU lacked early speed but closed well. CROIX DOR tired. MISS SUBWAY, much the best, broke well but dropped far back, lost ground by racing wide, closed with a rush in the stretch and wore down ANTE BELLUM in the last few strides. ANTE BELLUM, well placed in the early running, took the lead when straightened out in the stretch, held on well but could not withstand the winner. LEEORAN, well placed in the early running, finished gamely. MT. WASHINGTON showed a good effort. ST. MICA was outrun. CHEKA quit badly in the final eighth. Scratched 43978ICommandman, 103. The latter lacked her usual early speed, closed gamely in the stretch and finished gamely. SUN DORA showed early speed in the pacemaking but tired badly in the final eighth. SWEEPOGAN tired badly. BAGGAGE MASTER, well placed in the early running, dropped back slightly on the lower turn and finished well in the stretch. RUFFDAY broke fast, showed early speed, dropped back entering the stretch and, while tiring, easily held the others safe. COHORT GIRL tired in the final eighth. THE JUDGE quit.
