BEA M. SCORES IN FAST TIME Closes Fast to- Take Measure of Royal Broom and Lorraine S. at Blue Bonnets. MONTREAL, Que., June 26. Bea M., chestnut seven-year-old daughter of Dozer and Georgia W., racing for the estate of P. M. Sturm, and well handled by C. E. Payne, accounted for the running of the DuPont Broadcasting Handicap, feature of the seventh day of the Blue Bonnets meeting today, when she came from behind and drove to the finish a half length before J. B. Millers grey filly, Royal Broom. J. G. Fairs Lorraine S, took the minor award, three lengths back and well before L. Suprenants Golden Princess. Bea M. raced the six furlongs in 1:13, the fastest time for the distance of the meeting. A crowd of 10,000 witnessed the sport, which was conducted under ideal weather conditions. There was little delay at the start, and starter Richey had the field away in good order. From the start, Royal Broom went into the lead followed by Lorraine S. and Desert Call, while Bea M. was well back. Leaving the back stretch Royal Broom drew away into a two-length lead. As they continued well, but Bea M., under vigorous up. In the drive to the finish Royal Broom continued well, but Rea M., under vigorous handling by Payne, closed with a rush and, overtaking her in the last few strides, began to draw clear at the end. Lorraine S. raced forwardly from the start, but was unable to threaten the first two in the drive to the finish.
