i j j I C. E. LEHR LEXINGTON VISITOR Detroit Racing Association President Besieged by Horsemen for Stall Room While Visiting Keeneland. LEXINGTON, Ky., April 27.— With few exceptions, all of the leading stables that have participated in other meetings will return to Detroit for the Motor City season, which opens Saturday, May 20. This was the announcement of Clarence E. Lehr, president and general manager of the Detroit Racing Association, who arrived here yesterday and remained today for the running of the Blue Grass Stakes. While here, president Lehr was besieged with applications for stalls and, although he hopes to be able to accommodate all of the applicants, he now has more requests than quarters at the Fair Grounds course. Among the stables already allotted stalls are both divisions of the Bomar Stable, Dixi-ana, A. J. Abel, Fred M. Alger, C. H. Ains-worth, Carl Allen, O. A. Bianchi, Tall Trees Stable, Milky Way Farm, M. M. Johr, I. J. Collins and others. President Lehr stated that Charles F. Henry, racing secretary, would open his offices May 1, and that Bryan Steele, the starter, will be ready to start the schooling of horses about the same time.
