J ■y . : PRESENT JUDGING TROPHIES Winners Receive Awards for Yearling Contests Held by Thoroughbred Club of America. LEXINGTON, Ky., April 27.— Trophies for i the yearling judging contest conducted by the Thoroughbred Club of America each spring, were presented last night at the annual buffet supper of the turf club iii the Keeneland clubhouse. About 250 horsemen, including members of the club and their guests, were present as Governor A. B. Chandler made the presentation of the trophies on behalf of the club. J. E. Bassett, Jr., received on behalf of John Hay Whitney a trophy won by a colt shown by Mr. Whitney, which received the most votes in the colt division. Arthur W. Shutts, manager of Greentree Farm, received on behalf of Mrs. Payne Whitney a trophy won by one of her fillies, which received the j most votes in the filly division. j The judging contest held in 1937 was won last year by Sweet Patrice, because she won more money than any of the other yearlings shown at the same time. Thomas Piatt, owner of Brookdale Stud,-showed Sweet Patrice and he was presented with a trophy.
