1 CHURCHILL DOWNS NOTES | ■ tj Fisk Werring vanned three horses from Keeneland to Douglas Park and five more are expected tomorrow to be added to the outfit owned by Gould Shaw. Those which arrived are Sheknows, Cape Race and Tepin, while those scheduled to come are the juveniles, Jog, a chestnut colt, by Mate — Cousin Joe, Sation, chestnut colt, by Tryster— Res-pia, and Shipmadilly, a bay filly, by Jamestown—Gay Agnes. Egoiste, a three-year-old filly, is the other member of the stable. Howard Hoffman came over from Lexington, to prepare his barn for the arrival of the fifteen horses from Keeneland, while stalls have also been bedded yto take care of the nine Johnny Zoeller will campaign at Churchill Downs for the Glad Acres Farm of Richard B. George. J. J. Russell was an arrival from Hot Springs, Ark., and will remain here throughout the spring session in Louisville. Russell joined the gradually increasing clocking brigade. Apprentice Arthur Page, New York youngster under contract to Fisk Werring, was an addition to the riding colony here. The youngster will do the bulk of the riding for the stable trained by Werring at Churchill Downs. Jockey Paul Keester, Newport, Ky., has become affiliated with the I. J. Killion stable and plans to be active in the saddle during the Churchill Downs season. R. L. Stivers was a visitor from his home in Lexington and made arrangements for the stabling of the three horses that he will send from Keeneland Saturday, also four that are the property of Beckham W. Stivers. Among Wednesdays arrivals were four horses which H. H. Battle will race at the Downs. The stable, transferred from Keeneland, includes Suez, Suzanus, Queenie and Col. Julian. Jockey George" South remained in Lexington but will be here the end of the week to do the stables riding. Five more horses were added to the stable A. G. Tarn has quartered at Churchill Downs. He took up Swiftsport, which has been turned out for some time, and brought in Joharie, Asyouwere, Windshield and Kai-Hi from Lexington. Clyde Van Dusen is transferring Betty Sweep, Torch Betty, Killarney Lass and Chigre from Lexington to bring his Churchill Downs string up to twelve. Later Van Dusens public stable will be increased to twenty-one, the nine head he is leaving at Keeneland coming here after the first week of the meeting. Van Dusen has taken a call on jockey J. Rosen, who is connected with the E. D. Shaffer stable, for the Downs meeting. , Judge Charles F. Price announced that instead of serving as patrol judge, as was previously announced, Reuben White will continue as starter William Hamiltons chief assistant here. Judge Price may name a new patrol judge Friday. Tom Goose and Mrs. Goose, former natives of this city, who have been residing in Miami for a number of years, will be Derby •week guests of Mr. Gooses brother, Roscoe: Goose.
