ABRASION, racing as if much the best, went into command at the start, drew into a clear lead, was steadied while moving clear at will and was under strong reserve at the end. BALKY FOX was in nearest pursuit of the winner from the start and was placed to punishment, but was no threat. MOLASSES JULIA was hustled strongly and saved ground, but could not menace seriously. CONDILLAC lost ground for the entire trip and was held safe. SUN COMMANDO broke greenly and was not persevered with. DANCE ON was outrun. MAEWHISK was hurried to hold a contending position in the early racing, moved up fast rounding the turn to reach the pacemaker, withstood a stout drive willingly and was up in the last strides. ROVING EYE had good speed while setting the pace, saved ground from the start and fought it out stubbornly when challenged in , the last eighth. PATCHPOCKET bettered his position stoutly, drove through on the inside of the leaders entering the stretch and closed strongly. BARGAIN BOY raced well placed early and finished stoutlv on the outside in the late stages. PINE TAG dropped back early, then was taken wide to improve his position. SHANTEB was unable to threaten. SUN VOTER was done early. AIR EDDY passed tiring horses. NATHAN HALE tired fast. TOP SHELL was outrun. HIBLAZE showed good speed to set ,the early pace, but could not stay with the winner when the final test came. SACHEM, a slow beginner, [bettered his position stoutly in the last half mile. GRAND DUKE raced forwardly after breaking well, but was taken wide and could not threaten. CAIDON went well while racing on the inside. VOTE BOY could not enter contention. SYLVIA G., at home in the footing, was hurried into a contending position early, overhaulcd_ ALBUQUERQUE nearing the final turn and, under strong handling, outstayed CHIEF EVERGREEN whilc~bcaring over toward the inside in the stretch drive. CHIEF EVERGREEN worked his way up steadily to enter contention, came to the inside of the winner in the stretch and fought it out gamely while finishing in tight quarters. A claim of foul against the winner was: not allowed. TRANSIT LADY, cased back out of tight quarters early, raced in spots before gaining her best stride, then closed gamely. ANGUS broke from outside the stalls and bettered his position steadily in the last half mile. SCARLET O. closed a big gap. SHALAKO was steered very wide on the first turn when permitted to fall back, then closed stoutly when shaken up in the last five-sixteenths. ELSIE J. raced well. TAUNTON could not menace. ROWES CRUMP, badly outrun after beginning slowly, reached her company on the final turn, swung to the outside to close fast and wore down BUILDING TRADES inside the final sixteenths. The latter disposed of LADY ORCHID early, drew into a long lead rounding the final turn and saved ground, but flattened out badly in the last eighth. CAMARADERIE, rated off the early pace, finished full of run in the final drive. BOUNDING COUNT, lacking early speed, made up ground in the last half mile. LADY ORCHID began tiring after going three-quarters. ROCKY MEADOW raced well until reaching the final turn. SLEEPY HOWARD was unable to threaten. MELODY MAID raced poorly.
