DOZEN IN PARRISH MENAGE Public Trainer Continuing to Add to His Already Big String. Ohio Conditioners Charges AH in Good Shape — Uses Two Exercise Boys Every Morning. WHEELING, W. Va., May 18.— R. V. Far-rish, veteran Kinsman, Ohio, trainer, will be the "Sunny Jim" Fitzsimmons of Wheeling Downs during the coming spring meeting. It appeared likely today that Farrish will have more than a dozen horses in his care during the sixteen-day program opening on May 27. ~~ Parrish, who has enjoyed considerable success around half-mile tracks for many seasons, trains a public stable. At present he has eight head quartered at the Wheeling course and continues to add to his string daily. Miss Iva Mae Hawkins, Akron sportswoman, has the most racers in the "Parrish row" at the Downs. She sent Ima Jim and Every Effort here two weeks ago. Yesterday she added the good mare Lady Barko .to her string and announced that Austerlitz, which she acquired at Beulah Park, will be vanned here Thursday. Also in Parrishs care is George Zimmermans Baldy, W. C. Webbs Barney Allis, Jack Dillons Mary Irving and "Dutch" De-Boros King Belgian. "Dutch" is trainer Parrishs most capable assistant. IN FINE CONDITION. The Ohioan conditioner has all his charges in line fettle and will probable have three or more on the opening-day program. He has two boys exercising his campaigners every morning. His retinue occupies one entire row of stalls. Parrish revealed yesterday that he has been asked to accept three racers now at Fairmount Park and is expecting the van to arrive about Saturday. In addition, the Kinsman conditioner will have at least three fresh runners to carry his own silks here this spring. Parrish had three winners at Wheelings fall meeting last year. Stable connections revealed that the eight-year-old Baldy is already in the peak of condition and will have only light workouts during the next ten days. King Belgian and Every Effort are getting plenty of exercise around the racing strip these mornings.
