Gr. H. "BURLEY" MORTON DIES LOUISVILLE, Ky., May 18.— George H. "Burley" Morton, negro horseman, died this morning at City Hospital. He succumbed to gangrene poisoning which had necessitated the amputation of his left leg several days" ago. He rallied yesterday but sank rapidly last night and died early today. He was 66 years old and at the time of his death was foreman for Jack Hanover, trainer of the Friedberg and Axton stable. In his early days on the turf he worked for Col. Jack Chinn and Edward Corrigan. The remains were shipped to Harrodsburg, Kentucky, for burial.
