LAUREL WREATH, much the best, was forced to race on the outside to secure clear racing room and, under mild restraint for a half mile, responded to strong urging during the last eighth and disposed of DING BIN in the last seventy yards. The latter raced on the outside of RADIO CHARM in setting the pace, raced the latter into defeat approaching the final eighth, continued gamely under pressure, but could not withstand the winner. CAN-U-TELL, in close quarters soon after the start, was forced to weave her way through between horses in the stretch run and could not menace the leaders. MISS LAMPLEY, steered to the outside for the drive, finished gamely. RADIO CHARM, hustled from the start and unable to shake off DING BIN, faltered in the drive. THE NIZAM had no mishaps. LUCKY QUEST was outrun. Overweight — Lucky Quest, 2 pounds. Corrected weight — Lucky Quest, 106. SECOND RACE 3-4 MILE Out of Chute. QUENNA, slow to settle in stride, was taken in hand rounding the far turn, came to the outside for the drive, was strongly urged when reaching the leaders, took command approaching the last eighth and drew clear thereafter without need of pressure. HAPS PAL, racing forwardly from the start and under strong urging in the final drive, made a bold bid in the concluding stages, but was not good enough. MART showed good speed from the start, saved ground, but tired under pressure in the last eighth. HELEN V. moved into contention with a rush, but tired in the closing stages. ROSWEEP, in close quarters rounding the far turn, finished gamely. BUSYNITE had nothing left. ALF G. had a burst of carlv sneed. PARVA STELLA showed good speed from the start and. under steady restraint in setting the pace, was roused turning into the stretch and drew clear easily. CONCERTO, on the inside and in close quarters in the early stages, was steered to the outside for the drive and finished gamely, but was no match for the winner. B. BARON, hustled from the start and under increased pressure in the final drive, held on gamely. BABUR finished resolutely. SACAKAWA on the inside and hard hustled forcing the pace, faltered in the drive. OVER ROSE had no mishaps. INCOGNITO was unable to keep up after the first quarter. LADY BROOK was outrun. MT. WASHINGTON stumbled soon after the start, recovered quickly but was unable to reach the leaders. MY LOUELLEN quit. The latter, never a great distance back and under restraint for three-eighths was steered to the outside-for the drive, responded to pressure and might have been best. MISS WTTYPAT was reserved off the ear y pace, came to the outside for the drive and closed resolutfly. MOLASSES BOB could ont reach the leaders under pressure. NORMAN SLOAT away slowly rushed between horses to gain the lead and had nothing left for the final drive. NIGRETTE failed to respond when called upon turning into the stretch. MISS DAMARA, hustled into the lead under good .rating while saving ground, continued strongly after relinquishing the lead. BLACK NOSE, never a great distance back and racing on the outside the entire trip, finished gamely in a good effort. TRIP bore out under pressure in the final stages. LAKE SHORE lacked early speed. INDIAN BOY had no mishaps. PROOF had early speed. GEORGE was through after a quarter mile. The latter, under strong restraint in the parly stages, responded to strong urging in the stretch, but could not menace the winner. PRINCE PHAROAH, on the inside and in close quarters rounding the far turn, was steered to the outside for the final quarter and closed with a belated rush. GAWAINE, under occasional urging for three-quarters and under strong pressure, tired in the final eighth. ROCKRIM had no mishaps. GANNONNIC saved ground, but failed to reacli the leaders when called iirton approaching the last quarter. The others were outrun.
