1 CHURCHILL DOWNS NOTES I s -3 Sewell Combs and his wife motored over "from Lexington to take in the days races at Churchill Downs Wednesday afternoon. Otis Clelland, trainer of the horses owned by Mrs. R. J. Murphy and Miss Susan Kellogg, has made arrangements for the shipment of fourteen head to Detroit Saturday night. If Charlie Kurtsinger is successful in obtaining his release from Roscoe Goose, the Anchorage, Ky., veteran may sign with the Binglin Stable and go to Hollywood Park at the close of the Churchill Downs season. L. V. Bellew, Jr., has made arrangements to ship the ten horses he has quartered at Douglas Park to North Randall Sunday morning. A youngster learning the riding profession under Edward Haughton, Texas turfman, is Fred Smith, Idaho boy who joined the stable almost a year ago. Smith is showing promise and should be ready for his riding debut within a few months.
