GRAND CHILD, hustled around the first turn and taken in hand after about five-sixteenths, failed to rally to light punishment when approaching the stretch, but held on well while saving ground in the final quarter and got up in the closing strides. THE GREETER, obviously best and forced back in the. run to the first turn, was directed around the leaders approaching the far turn, opened up a commanding lead on the stretch turn and, but for bearing out all through the final quarter,, might have won by a decisive margin. SERENATA MAID bore over in the early stages, was under vigorous" riding after reaching the last three-eighths and tired in the stretch. EASTERNER bore out in the run to the first turn, continued to race wide thereafter and was never a strong factor. The others had no mishaps. Scratched— 737553Bargain Hunter, 107. OGALLAH, allowed to move up gradually in the first three-sixteenths, was strongly restrained while being forced wide on the stretch turn, closed with, determination under fine handling when straightened up in the last three-sixteenths and, getting to the front, was safe from CHECK GIRLS rush. The latter, away slowly and unable to get through entering the stretch, swune: to the outside in the final threo-sixteenhs and, closing with a rush, was getting to the winner. DENVER had speed from the start, saved much ground, but tired after drawing clear in the stretch. BROWN MOSS worked his way up gradully for a half mile, then tired. COLUMBIAS BOY had speed under rushing tactics, but began to falter before reaching the last eighth, as his inexperienced rider was but little help to him. FIRST UP was held safe. CAPE RACE, away fast, was rated along under light restraint for a half mile, increased his- advantage when straightened in the stretch and won handily. JENS SON, well up from the start and taken to the outside after reaching the turn, raced wide thereafter and held on well. COUNTRY ACE, rushed into a contending position on the outside, swerved under pressure in the stretch and tired in the late stages, but outstayed ARIANNA. The latter showed a good effort. PARISIAN MAID had speed, but gave way suddenly soon after reaching the stretch and raced evenly in the late stages. UNCLE LESTER was badly outrun. FREE MONEY, racing in good form, forced the pace under steady reserve, took command gradually when called upon, but had to be ridden out to hold ROYAL BROOM safe. The latter, a sharp factor from the start, dropped back slightly before going to the inside in the stretch, closed resolutely under strong handling and disposed of PEPPER BOX in the last fifty yards. HIGH POLISH came from far back with a rush in the stretch. SURVEYOR went well. ETHELS CHOICE had to race wide. IDEAL FUNGI showed a good effort from a slow beginning. VANWIND, taken back at the start, had little chance thereafter. SAY WHEN met much interference. INSCOMIRA, overcoming much early interference, began to improve her position when racing wide on the second turn, continued on the outside while closing in resolute fashion and outgamed CROSS RUFF. The latter, rated along under snug restraint for a mile, hung on stubbornly in the drive, but was not good enough. MISS FIREFLY made the pace under good rating, swerved out slightly in the stretch and began to falter before reaching the last eighth. BOY VALET had no mishaps. LAURA KIEV saved much ground. DELLOR, away fast, forced the early pace under strong reserve, took command easily, was shaken up several times in the stretch and, holding on with determination, stalled off NOVELETTE. The latter, reserved off the pace, started to move up on the stretch turn, challenged gamely when straight in the final quarter, but could not get up. NEIGHBOR began to work his way up after a half mile, was placed to " brisk pressure after three-quarters and hung on stubbornly to the end. DON CREOLE came from far back while racing wide in the stretch. DNIEPER was forced back on the turn and had little chance thereafter. MANIE OHARA lacked her best speed and was never a serious factor. GLASBY saved ground while following the pace under strong restraint to the stretch, came around the leaders gradually as he responded willingly to energetic riding and, holding on gamely, withstood the rush of AHEAD. The latter, allowed to remain far out of it for three-quarters, swung to the outside on the stretch turn, continued to race wide while coming with fine belated speed through the final quarter and might have gotten up 4n a few more strides. CHANCE STAR, on the inside throughout, was cleverly rated, but tired slightly when the real test came. JEFFERSONTOWN held on well. STAR BUD tired when placed to a drive in the stretch. STANISLAUS, also strongly restrained for about three-quarters, rallied only mildly when called upon and quit badly in the late stages. PARKWOOD CHIEF had no mishaps.
