WACKY JACK, going in his best form and well handled, opened up a commanding lead soon after a quar-ter, continued gamely under vigorous riding in the final stages and held SAY WHEN safe. The latter, never far out of it and kept on the outside, responded readily to a shaking up on the turn and was slowly wearing down the winner. FRITZ HALLAM was rushed into the lead soon after the start and, hard hustled throughout, tired in the last sixteenth. TWOSOME could noc keep up. WALTER L. began sluggishly, lost some ground when working his way up when forced wide and faltered in the closing stages. MISS DAMARA reared up and fell at the gate, broke slowly and was always outrun. PAUL B. was placed on the outside of the gate for the start. LEGALITY had brief early speed. FLICKERING, away fast and hustled into the lead quickly, shook off repeated challenges in the first three-eighths from CLASHMAN. continued courageously under urging and outstayed JOSIE JANE. The latter, a strong factor from the start, was forced to race wide at the turn, closed strongly and showed a good effort. NOAJEAN began slowly, worked her way up on the outside and closed a big gap. JOY SWEEP was prominent for the entire trip and had no excuse. MISS WISE improved her position gradually after a sluggish beginning. BUSSE TRUMPET was unable to keep up. TRUE STAR, alertly handled and showing good speed throughout, forced a stiff pace for a quarter, moved around COPIN at the stretch turn and, swiftly taking command, had something in reserve at the end. COPIN broke fast, saved ground while setting the pace, but was no match for the winner when challenged. DARBY DALLAS raced well up throughout and held on with good courage. VINUM was in close quarters soon after the start and was taken to the outside thereafter and never threatened. AZOTE could not keep up. GIGGLE LEE began slowly and made up some ground. FLYING WATCH, rated close to the pace from the start, was roused when reaching the final quarter and, taken to the outside, responded courageously to urging and was up in the last stride to wear down KING TEA. The latter was hustled into a commanding lead soon after the start, was subject to strong urging in the last three-sixteenths and held on gamely, but was not good enough. PHILIGAL made up ground rapidly in the final quarter and finished strongly. SWALE forced the pace to the final quarter, where he tired under pressure. ETHELS CHOICE improved her position steadily. ROUGH LANE tired. MATURE was through early. TRUTHFULLY was fractious at the gate, was placed outside for the start and reared up at the start. Scratched — 73522 Sailorman, 113. UNION bore out on the first turn, worked his way up gradually thereafter on the outside and closed well, despite drifting out during the last three sixteenths. PAPALINDA improved his position gradually while on the outside under strong handling, disposed of CLANSMAID in the last quarter, but required strenuous urging in the final stages to hold PARKWOOD CHIEF safe. The latter dropped back soon after the start, worked his way up steadily after going a half mile and was gaining -rapidly on the winner in the last sixteenths. CLANSMAID, lucky to get through on the inside on the first turn, took a commanding lead while under steadying restraint, but tired when challensed in the last three-sixteenths. VENEER, in close quarters on the turn and poorly handled, tired. SERENATA MAID was forced wide on the first turn, worked her way up on the inside approaching the far turn, then, gave way. BROADWAY JUEL, fractious at the gate and placed on the outside for the start, was much used in working around the field to assume the lead, then tired in the drive. GALLEY SWEEP, after showing speed for a half mile, tired. MR. QUICK forced the pace for five-eighths, then gave way. HO began slowly, lacked speed and was always outrun.
