MAYMISS, allowed to settle in stride from the start and steered to the outside when called upon in the drive, wore down MISS VEP, but could not menace the winner. MISS VEP, prominent from the start, tired in the closing eighth. MISS IVORY failed to menace the leaders under pressure. BIG CHARIOT had no mishaps. RO-SWEEP lacked early speed. SIR BLACKIE had no excuses. DAVIDS BOY, away slowly, was used up In the first three-eighths. ENAGALA, hustled from the start, raced BEDIGHT into defeat, drifted out turning into the stretch and held on gamely when straightened. AIR LINE, prominent from the start and steered to the inside for the drive, closed strongly. BEDIGHT had nothing left for the stretch run. The others had no mishaps. LEE WALKER, hustled from the start, held on gamely after releasing the lead. FACULA, never a great distance back, tired in the last eighth. ROSY DOON and MARIO lacked early speed. PHRIXUS had no mishaps. BILL ROCK quit. DIXIE DORA was racing strongly when she suffered a hemmorrhage and was eased up.
