Stepping Stones . . . The valuable Index Numbers preceding the names of all horses in the Form Chart are the "Stepping Stones" in the career of a race horse. The best method of keeping an up-to-date tab on all horses is to be a regular subscriber to MONTHLY FORM BOOK. Each and every race run by all horses during the month indicated on the title page are printed under their respective Index Numbers, by which means you may trace back through the entire month just what has been accomplished by any particular horse starting during that period. These Index Numbers provide a ready arid, accurate reference at all times. The Index is one of the most valuable tabulations presented to the racing public. A handy guide to the past records of all racehorses! The Index gives the reader an easy and rapid way to follow a particular horse through the racing of the month. In addition, the pedigree of each horse is given, also an index number of every race participated in by each horse, thus making his performances readily accessible. Illuminating footnotes are given at the bottom of each chart These convey much valuable information about the running of each race and how the horses fared. Just why a certain horse won or lost may be gleaned from these observations of our track correspondents, who follow every move of the horses during the running of the races. No other publication furnishes such valuable and reliable information. The value of such information should be readily appreciated by every racing fan who desires to keep posted on the form and qualifications of the various horses. They are indispensable to the students of form, who may observe from these charts why a certain horse won or lost, and whether that horse is in or approaching condition. HOW CHARTS ARE COMPILED — "CALL" POINTS FOR ALL RACES ARE SHOWN Students of form often wonder just how charts are made, for it Is from these charts that all knowledge of form is derived. THE MONTHLY FOKM BOOK now reveals the method. There is a graph in the book, so drawn that readers may understand something of the method and detail employed in the compilation of these charts and better visualize the race as they read the chart The course ellipse is divided into sixteenths and both the POINT OF START and the POINT OF CALL by the chartmaker for each distance is shown.
