TWO HANDICAPS FEATURE CRETES HOLIDAY CARD » 1 Manie OHara Opposing Masculine Rivals in Peabody Memorial . * Daughter of The Satrap at Home in "Off" Footing — • Eight Juveniles Make Up Field for Chicago Heights Handicap — Track Conditions Uncertain 1 CRETE, 111., May 29.— Manie OHara, which defeated a field of fillies and mares in the Kankakee Handicap, will tiy for her second stakes victory of the season against horses of the masculine sex in the eleventh running of the Francis S. Peabody Memorial Handicap at Lincoln Fields tomorrow. This gray daughter of The Satrap, owned by Hyman Fried-berg and Edin Axton, is one of a smart field of older handicap performers scheduled to meet at a mile in the ,500 added test, which will share the spotlight on the Decoration Day program with the Chicago Heights Handicap. The latter is a ,500 added race for two-year-old colts and geld-ings. Manie OHara is admirably suited to her assignment tomorrow for the distance, a mile, is to her fancy, and prospects are that the track will be off, a condition not likely to hurt her chances. In winning the Kankakee she ran a mile over a heavy track, winning easily with two lengths to spare. Closest to her was her own stablemate, Bala Ormont. The latter is not entered in tomorrows feature, but Manie OHara will have a running companion in Montsin. TOPNOTCH PERFORMERS. Some of the topnotch performers which Manie OHara will be called upon to meet are Shandon Farms Burning Star, Mrs. Emil Denemarks Finance, John Marschs Kings Blue, J. W. Parrishs Dellor and Valdina I Farms Eagle Pass. Finance signalized his [ fitness for the Peabody last week when he won the Homewood Purse in his first public appearance in a year and a half. Burning Star has been assigned top weight of 120 pounds, with Finance scheduled to carry 118, four less than he shouldered in his last winning effort. Manie OHara may not be the favorite for the Peabody, but she is certain to receive healthy respect, in light of her splendid performance in Saturdays race. Other horses which may be found in tomorrows mile attraction are Ceda Visions Chance Ray, Mrs. Emil Denemarks Melodist and Some Count, and E. E. Fogelsons Gray Jack. CRACK JUVENILE FIELD. The juvenile feature also drew a fast field, including W. F. Morgans Rapid Way, Wool-ford Farms Quenemo and Tonganoxie, Shandon Farms Questre, E. R. Moulders Earls-boro, Mrs. C. Willis Black Time, J. W. Parrishs Centuple and William Maloneys Count Natural. All these youngsters either have raced or trained well and should stage a thrilling contest.
