1 NORTH RANDALL TURF NOTES f R. J. Dienst, president of the Beulah Park Jockey Club, came from his home in Columbus for the opening of the season and decided to remain for several days of sport. Jockey Andy Lo Turco, who has been riding with a good measure of success at Suffolk Downs, arrived Monday morning and will ride free lance. The two-year-olds in the stable of J. B. Respess, which contracted a cough en route from Louisville, were reported much improved Monday morning. W. L. Martin vanned Drudgery, second in the inaugural handicap at North Randall, to Detroit to participate in the Memorial Day Handicap at the Motor City track. The racer will be returned to North Randall after fulfilling the stakes engagement. West Sea and Blue Star are the first thoroughbreds with bad post manners to be placed on the schooling list by starter W. C. Daly. G. C. Scott has obtained first call on the services of jockey Alex Schlenker for the duration of the meeting, while second call is held by J. P. Keezek. Apprentices W. Baughn and W. Mooney accepted their first mounts of the season on Mondays program. Randall H. Anderson, a member of the Ohio Racing Commission, represented the body at the inaugural festivities at North Randall and was much impressed with the success achieved. Nick Burgers Fair and Fast, which unloaded with a temperature from Louisville a few days ago is well on the road to recovery and will soon be ready to return to training.
