PROTEST STOPPING OF SHIPS SHANGHAI, China, May 29.— Germany, Japans partner, today joined France and Britain in protesting against Japans stopping of ships off the China coast. The liner Sauerland, it was revealed, was stopped last Wednesday off Hong Kong by a Japanese warship. The British steamer Ranpura and the French ship Aramis likewise were halted.
