BOSTON, Mass., May 29.— Disqualifica-. tions occurred at Suffolk Downs this after-• noon, the second of the day coming in the featured Lafayette Purse, at a mile. M. J. Whites Peter Argo finished a length and a half in front of Mrs* W. R. Flemmings Love-[ day in the event. The stewards charged a foul, and called up Dbminick Sena, who rode Peter Argo, and Bobbie Merritt, who was astride Loveday, and Peter Argos number was taken down and he was placed last. Once more the archaic rule that a disqualified horse must be placed last was demonstrated, for the leaders were some half a dozen lengths in front of the nearest contender at the eighth post, where Sena began to ride Loveday close. Sena was given a fifteen-day suspension. Earlier in the afternoon the number of Okapilida, which finished second, was taken down. Under the revised placings, Hal Price Headleys Atatime, which was eight lengths back of the runner-up, was moved into second place, and Mrs. Emil Denemarks Savi-tar took the third award. Peter Argo went to the front early in the back stretch run and fought a head and head battle with Savitar to the far turn. There Loveday drove up extremely fast to challenge at the stretch and draw alongside at the eighth marker. There the trouble started and it continued until the pair were past the sixteenth post, where Peter Argo drew off. Atatime moved up third at the head of the stretch but could not threaten the leaders. Savitar was done after following the pace down the far stretch. The race was run in l:43=s over a track that was heavy and rough. However, the sun was shining brightly all afternoon.
