SARAH JUSTICE forced the pace to the final eighth, forged to the front when subjected to strong pressure and had enough left to withstand the belated rush of SON OF DAY. The latter, widely outrun for three-quarters, moved up fast thereafter, closed with a rush and was wearing down the winner. REGISTERITE, a strong factor for a mile, tired in the stretch. BROWN MAN, well up early and under strong pressure, failed to respond when placed to punishment. WEEDIDIT lacked speed throughout. Scratched— 73998 Blind Blarney, 116. The latter improved his position gradually, responded to pressure, closed with good courage, but was overmatched. WOODBRIDGE, well up most of the way, tired in tho stretch. GUSTAVIA, on the inside most of the way, failed to respond to pressure. SAN ARDO had no excuse. LITTLE KIEV was outpaced. FREEZE showed nothing. Overweight — Alberta B., 2 pounds.
