1 LINCOLN FIELDS TURF NOTES | $ Vic Gallo has taken over the training of Dolly Val for James Emery. Gallo is also conditioning Better Forget, Nedrow, Ann McGinty and Lady Velvet for Russell Jewett. The Jewett horses arrived here recently from Beulah Park. Mrs. J. H. Skirvin claimed Chance Star out of the eighth race at Lincoln Fields Friday for ,000. The horse ran under the colors of the Woolford Farm. J. Neel got in from Beulah Park with Corvus and Harem Queen, which races in his own name. D. H. Johnstone has taken over the training of the horses owned by Mrs. W. S. Billings. R. C. Goff registered Forever Prince, Supreme Flag, Well Flight and Sue Harpen for racing at Lincoln Fields. F. W. Gilliland brought from a farm near here the three-year-old, Dr. Smith, owned by his wife. H. Roberts registered Birthday Cake, Broken Pieces, Miss Paula, Buyer Beware, Edna T., Bubbling Wells, Better Be Good, and Run Marie, "the property of several pwners. Jockey Albert Bodiou is leaving here Sunday for Winnipeg, where racing begins June 2. B. F. Stutts is expected here momentarily from New York, with seven horses he will campaign at Lincoln Fields for Mrs. G. H. Emick. Lawrence Jones, a director in the American Turf Association, is a guest of Col. M. J. Winn at Lincoln Fields. Judge Eugene Dailey and James Graham Brown, prominent Louisvillians, were noted in Saturdays large crowd at the Crete track. Browns stable, trained by Tom Sanford, is campaigning at the Fields. James Loftus, associated with Steve Han-nagan in the handling of public relations at Arlington Park, came out for Saturdays racing at Lincoln Fields. Secretary of State Edward J. Hughes and Mrs. Hughes, opening day visitors, returned to Springfield, but will motor back for Tuesdays holiday racing. Charles Krutckoff, president of the Chicago Business Mens Racing Association, was another turf notable out for Saturdays racing. Sir Passes, owned by the Lexbrook Stables, fell dead in his stall at Lincoln Fields Friday night. He was a three?year-old and the cause of death was not immediately determined.
