DONALD W. moved to contention without need of pressure, challenged boldly, but was not good enough. SILVER BANQUET, a strong contender throughout, held on ■with good courage in the final stages. BROWN BANNER raced well under pressure. COLONEL B. B., in close quarters early, raced well when clear. LADY R. had no excuse. MISS MARTA began slowly. PILLOR-•LAD wheeled and unseated his rider at the start. TANGO QUEEN, rank at the post, broke slowly. LADY BANNER could not keep up. Won driving; second and third the same. LOUS PRINCE displayed the most speed, attained a commanding lead and won thereafter. MARCH STEP forced the pace throughout, but could not menace the winner. BALKAN LAND, in close quarters early and again in the stretch, closed resolutely when clear. CHARLES KRIPP, slow to get going, was going strongly approaching the stretch when forced to ease up when COLOR BELL was pulled up sharply, then came to the inside and finished fastest. GRAY DUST quit. MAX MARTIS finished strongly. CLIENTELLE had no excuse. JOHN DRISKILL had early speed. COLOR BELL was pulled up, having been cut down. HUGRIGHT was away slowly. The latter, in close quarters early, took command when clear, offered stubborn contention, but could not withstand the winner. CHRYSEIS closed resolutely, but was no serious threat. PASS FORWARD tired in the stretch. ALS PRIDE had a rough trip and the effort shoudl be disregarded. VOLTINA lacked speed. THELMA DOR showed nothing. UPSET MACAW closed with good courage under strong riding and finished fast after commencing slowly. JACK GREENOCK finished strongly under hustling tactics. PARVA STELLA tired in the stretch. LITTLE MISTAKE was outrun. TRU-MONT failed to keep up under pressure. BOBBIE EASTER raced well for three-quarters, then quit. SNOBEEDO dropped out of it early and was far back thereafter. HOUSTONIAN, never far away and on the outside throughout, responded when urged, but was not good enough. BLIND HOPE, rushed to the leaders after three-eighths, failed to keep up in the stretch. FLODUR raced with the leaders for a half mile, then gave way badly. SAY LITTLE lacked speed. Overweight — Chica, 1 pound.
