BLUE CROSS, always prominent, gained command inside the furlong pole and just lasted over FIRST PAL. The latter was steadied for a half, rallied along the inside and just missed. ALEMANNIA was slow to settle into stride and closed with good energy. HEDGETH0RN closed fastest of all after being far back early. FAIR MARK threatened from the outside and hung. LOVI LOVI and CROSSED ACTION raced each other into defeat and quit. BEE W BEE drifted out all the way. VIM was through early. GERAM0ND refused to break. WELL MY WORD raced on the outside of BLAZING around the turn, drew clear after disposing of that one and won handily. DJINN could not keep up early, lugged in slightly when roused in the early stretch and closed with good energy. DEALER was slow to settle into stride and closed with a belated rush. BASHFUL SUN continued on well. ASTRODOME threatened after three furlongs, but failed to respond when set down. BLAZING saved ground while with the pace, but tired sadly. BRONZE MEDAL saved ground while setting the pace, turned back several challenges and just missed. CLUSIANA failed to rally. BAD LIGHT faltered after vying for the lead to the stretch. SOME TOWN assumed command early under hustling tactics, saved ground while turning back the determined challenge of JACKS. TOWN, then was kept to intermittent pressure while maintaining a clear lead. HOOSIER BOY improved his position gradually, but could not menace the top one. GOING AWAY responded well to reach prominence nearing the stretch, -then tired. JACKS TOWN was unhurried while pressing the pace, was roused near the three-sixteenths pole, but tired. FUGITIVE weakened. HERO raced forwardly and flattened out. DART BY, under steadying restraint while in close attendance to the pace, responded to wrest command from the outside nearing the stretch and held sway while winning cleverly. DR. ALMAC raced BINKY B. into defeat, saved ground in the late stages, appeared to have sufficient room when DART BY drifted in slightly but was not good enough. A claim of foul against the winner was not allowed. OCEAN FRONT challenged when able to move between horses but was not good enough. WICKERS WISH rallied mildly on the final turn and tired. COURT RULER was nicely rated while holding a narrow advantage and held on gamely in the final stages. JACOPONE, outrun early, saved ground while challenging, was kept in close during the drive and came out of the race badly cut down. BOMB-CASE was always a factor and held on well. APPEASE NOT improved his position steadily and appeared headed for victory until he swerved out sharply in the early stretch. SUN BUD reached contention along the inside and ♦guit.
