The latter trailed in the opening stages, lost ground moving up and finished well._RAIDING STAR established a clear lead on the backstretch and came to the inside, then gave way after being headed. QUEEN KARLING had no excuse. THOROBELLE had brief speed and quit. ASTERBILL was outrun. LONGHORN went into a clear lead quickly, drew away without need of urging and won easily. SEAMANS PAL was well placed on the rail throughout and outfinished LITTLE TONY for the place. The latter was prominent from the start and had no excuse. DELORAH went up between horses after a slow beginning and closed with good courage. LUCKY DOG established a clear lead and came to the inside after a furlong, swung wide coming out of the turn and drew away under mild pressure. BUTTON SHOES was forced to lose ground on the turn and was carried extremely wide coming out for the turn, then could not menace in the drive. BURNT PAIR went up on the rail to be prominent and closed willingly. LUCKY CODINE bore out on the turn. LEETS GAL was outrun. BRUN DOR fell over PATTYS BEACON. BE BRIEF set the pace on the outside, took command before a half and drew away, drifted out slightly through the drive and won easily. NICTOR, far back early, went up steadily when gaining best stride and closed strongly. BILL TWIG was forwardly placed from the break and showed a good effort. CRALINE tired near the end. QUATRE BLANC had speed for a half and gave way. SWEEPGOLD showed nothing. FOXSTEP was through early. YALE showed a poor effort. The latter, away slowly, was rushed up on the inside to be prominent, dropped back on the turn, then came again with a belated rush. MONFALON lost considerable ground on the turn and tired.
