Shaffer Returns to Detroit After Attending NARC Meet FAIR GROUNDS, Detroit, Mich., May 18.— E. E. Dale Shaff er, . master of Coldstream Stud, president of the Michigan Racing Association and Kentucky state racing commissioner, returned here late today from New York after attending the convention of the National Association of State Racing Commissioners. Charles Kenney, farm manager at Coldstream, who gave much time and effort in successfully launching the current Fair Grounds meeting, is to depart for Lexington tonight. Kenney reported that many of the matrons at Coldstream foaled but the breeding season is presently in full swing and that it would be impossible for him to remain any longer in the Motor City. Kenney will come back to the Fair Grounds after tending business at the noted Fayette County thoroughbred nursery.
