Fernandez Expects to Resume Riding Tomorrow at Suffolk SUFFOLK DOWNS, East Boston, Mass., May 18. — Mrs. America Fernandez, wife of the veteran Cuban riding star, Fernando Fernandez, was at his bedside soon after the 42-year-old jockey was taken to the Revere Hospital following the bad spill that occurred during the running- of the sixth race at Suffolk Downs yesterday. Mrs. Fernandez is visiting here with their two children, fifteen-year-old Herlindiata and eleven-year-old Jorge. Both children attend a private school in Boston. Fernandez spent the night at the hospital for observation but has recovered sufficiently and expects to resume riding with Fridays program. Paul Glidewell, who also fell in the race, received lacerations of the chin necessitating five stitches. Glidewell was also detained at the Revere Hospital overnight but has been released and expects to re-, turn to action soon. ? r In another spill that occurred in the third race yesterday, jockey Albert Stone was shaken up when his mount, Bengal Babby, fell. Stone was sent to the Chelsea Memorial Hospital for observation and was reported as okay this morning.
