Meeting at Mexico City Extended Indefinitely HIPODROMO DE LAS AMERICAS, Mexico, D. F., May 19.— The scheduled 102-day meeting at the Hipodromo de Las Americas has been extended indefinitely. No closing date has been set, the length of the extension depending on the weather and economic conditions. Early rains have appeared in the last two weeks and several days ago the course was deep in mud. Should heavy rains continue, it would be virtually impossible to race throughout the month of June. The announcement, as released by Jo Grossman, assistant to president Bruno Pagliai, follows: "Following the conclusion of the official racing season of 1948-49 on Sunday, June 5, Mr. Bruno Pagliai, president of the Hipodromo de Las Americas, and his associates* have approved the extension of the meeting for an indefinite period through the month of June, depending solely on weather and economic conditions. The finaj closing date will be announced at the discretion of the management."
