NITE CRIES, forwardly placed from the beginning, responded to strong handling during the stretch run and wore down LUNCH DATE, then held BEE ROSE safe. The latter, outrun early, finished fast under punishment, but could not overtake the winner. LUNCH DATE went to the front early, made the pace to the final furlong, then faltered. SIR MONTE was outrun. SWIFT TOWN raced wide. BILL G. failed to stay after showing early speed. ALLDEPENDS was never prominent. POMPEYS SONG showed nothing. SECOND RACE 3-4 MILE out of chute. JIMMIE went to the front when ready, established a clear lead before reaching the stretch, then drew out to win as his rider pleased. HIS GRACE, away sluggishly and far back to the stretch, finished strongly. MISS TEXAS closed willingly under urging. BROWN CLIPPER failed to rally when set down in the drive. LOW TENSION was done early. SPRING THAW had early speed. MAKING MERRY never was a serious factor. COIFFEUR was far back throughout. MINNESOTA, away alertly and never far back, established a clear lead entering the stretch and retained the advantage while under brisk urging. BLUE TAIL FLY reached the lead after going a quarter mile, continued gamely, but was not good enough for the winner. ROSY GOING closed determinedly, but could not overtake the leaders. SULTY lacked early speed, but finished fast. BEES DREAM was outrun. LAPEL never was dangerous. R0DRIG0 did not like the sloppy track. LUSTY began sluggishly. WIDE AWAKE raced greenly. MAYRAM steadily improved her position to the upper turn, assumed command after disposing of SCOTCH BIM, then withstood a long drive to hold CID PLAY safe. The latter, outrun early, moved up boldly approaching the stretch, then closed gamely under punishment, but could not overtake the winner. MESCARA could not better his position when hard ridden through the stretch. SCOTCH BIM made the pace for a half mile, then weakened. LATE BREEZE, outrun early, was sent to the middle of the track for the stretch run and, responding to punishment, wore down the leaders and disposed of ONE BLUE in the last strides. ONE BLUE, never far back, saved ground throughout, held a clear lead when settled in the stretch and, faltering while racing in the deepest going, could not hold the winner. SPRING FOLLY had early speed and held on well in a good effort. BAGUIO raced wide during the last thfte-eighths. CARDIGAN could not keep up after showing early speed. CRACKERJACK was never dangerous. SOMA _ LAD went to the front at the start, made the pace to the upper turn, then gave way to the winner, but held on well to best the others. JUDGE O., outrun to the stretch, finished determinedly. BELLBR00K saved ground £ throughout, but failed to stay after showing early speed. LAYOUT began slowly and never was dangerous. THE BAGEL was done early. BIG GRAVEL, a keen factor from the start, went to the front early, gave Way momentarily to PINE GROVE at the half, then came again when ready and drew out to win with something left. PINE GROVE, forwardly placed throughout, reached the lead after going a half, was unable to hold the winner, but was easily best of the others. NO PEACE failed to rally when set down through the stretch. CHALVAAL was done early. BAR POOL had early speed. WEGOTONE never was prominent. Scratched— 73402 Free Meal, 108.
