STARTLE ME, in hand while close to the pace, came around the leaders on the turn, assumed command and drew out with ease. PONCA, a forward factor on the inside, gained a slight advantage when put to pressure, but was not good enough. KIT N KAT finished stoutly in the final furlong. RELOJ set the pace, saved ground to the final furlong, then tired. BEAUTIFUL ANN passed tiring horses. FEATHER STITCH had speed for a half. MIKEDAVE raced wide throughout SHES HAPPY had no mishap. ROFFIE moved alertly leaving the barrier, worked her way up gradually on the outside to engage the leader on the final turn, drew clear and was never in danger thereafter. H. T. PERRY engaged DEVIATION soon after the start, gained a slight advantage and saved ground, but was not good enough. COUNT STEEL moved with a rush after reaching the far turn, swung to the inside in the late stages and closed stoutly. VALSIDA was well up throughout and had no mishap. LOS LUNAS made up ground on the extreme outside. DEVIATION weakened after a half mile. GAY GLOW had brief early speed. CLASSMATE was unable to better position under urging. COMEDY BOY showed nothing. RESPIRE assumed command on the far turn, drew clear and was under light urging to the end. FRAPIA broke alertly, opened a comfortable lead in the first quarter, shortened stride when challenged, but held on tenaciously. CAROLINA STAR improved position gradually in a good effort. LUSMORES passed tiring horses. SO PROVOKED had no mishap. POUTING MAC broke well, was taken under restraint early, saved ground, but was unable to make up ground when roused. GILA WATER, in hand for six furlongs, was sent up on the outside of the. field, lugged in badly wracking up the field nearing the furlong pole, . continued to bear in and finished along the Inside. TOP SCORE was hustled Into the lead at once and, placed J£ linder steadying restraint, remained in closest attendance of the leader, saved ground on the turns and gained a slight advantage, but was unable to stave off the bid of the winner. MARBLEHEAD, a forward factor throughout, weakened in the late stages. WHERRIE set the pace under light urging and held on gamely when brushed by the winner, then weakened in the final strides. HUTCH bettered position along the inside. NIGHT CRAWLER was moving on the outside when impeded on the final turn and was knocked out of contention. FLAMING DANCE was unable to keep up. WARRIOR PRINCE moved with a rush after a half mile and challenged mildly, then flattened out. TELBEDA loomed as. a threat - along the inside only to weaken. WAR DELEGATE was never a serious factor. KANDYCAL came to the extreme outside for the drive and finished with good energy. DUKES GAL forced the pace most of the way, then weakened in the late, stages. GRAY STAR broke well, dropped back while running along the inside, then rallied mildly in the final stages. MAYES RILEY had no mishap. JOES GAL was unable to keep up. DIME, taken in hand soon after the start, rallied mildly when roused and closed willingly. VARODI, in close quarters most of the way, was unable to make up ground when clear. GREAT FUN, steadied in a forwardly position, failed to respond when roused. VINITA REV showed nothing. TILLERETTE was in closest attendance of the pace for seven furlongs, then tired.
