Ten to Parade Postward In Hunting Valley Purse Little Stick Likely Favorite For Thistle Down Attraction RANDALL PARK, North Randall, Ohio, May 19. — The Hunting Valley Purse, an allowance event for three-year-olds and upwards, is the most attractive event for tomorrows presentation, bringing together 10 of the better middle-distance performers at this course. Half of the overnight entrants have - proven their capabilities by having scored a victory during the current meeting. Of this number, the triumph of J. "Cotton" Johnsons racer, Little Stick, was the most impressive, and it may be expected that he will attract the bulk of the public support in the wagering. The other members to have won recently are Mrs. G. Searcys fleet mare, Hedge Hopper; Hall and Fetzers two-time winner, Side Order; Samuel J. Browns aging campaigner, Yukon, and the hard-hitting representative of R. J. Bauman, Love Story. Little Stick was hard pressed to manage his triumph early last week, coming to the conclusion of the one mile and 70 yards a scant head before William E. Balls racer, Lenas Boy. This latter performer will take up the challenge once again under identical conditions as to weight and distance, and must be afforded an excellent opportunity to reverse the decision in the Hunting Valley. Another non - winner at this meeting develops as a strong contender, Ralph Blancos. East Norwich. This racer has received two excellent six-furlong preparations, and is certain to make a better showing with the added distance he will be afforded tomorrow. East Norwich was a consistent winner at this course last year, and possesses a stout stretch drive that might easily carry him to the wire before his rival participants. Despite the final result, backers of the mare, Hedge Hopper, will receive at least temporary satisfaction when that mare displays her phenomenal early speed. Her latest outing indicates that she is at her peak, against slightly lesser company she quickly opened an advantage of eight lengths and although weakening in the stretch run, lasted to hold opposition safe by a handy margin of better than two lengths. -i Y"3c it .i n yff j d * 1 , •
