Won driving; second and third the same. OIL CAPITOL, a sharp factor from the start, responded to strong handling in the stretch and lasted to withstand BULLY BOY. The latter, away alertly and never far back, closed strongly under brisk urging, but could not overtake the winner, although easily best of the others. OLD TOM, forwardly placed from the outset, raced prominently to the final furlong, then faltered. DONKE SERENADE could not better his position while under good handling. JOE SUN, never far back and boldly ridden, saved ground during the last three-eighths and, after taking command in the stretch, drew clear when ridden out. HIMMELEE, much used engaging BIG AFFAIR to the stretch, reached the lead and, in close quarters during the drive, could not hold the winner. BIG AFFAIR raced prominently to the last eighth, .then weakened. BOIS JOLI was outrun. OXFORD DON could not keep up. TULCO never was dangerous. i Big Affair claimed by G and G Stable. MAGNUS lacked early speed and failed to rally after securing a good position during the drive. PUSSY WILLOW failed to stay after racing well to the stretch. GILDED TRUMP could not keep up.
