Faneuil Miss to Contest Bay State Kindergarten Expected to Engage Unbridled In Suffolks Week-End Feature SUFFOLK DOWNS, East Boston, Mass., May 19. — The Bay State Kindergarten Stakes, first of the two-year-old stakes to be presented in New England this year, will be run at Suffolk Downs on Saturday. Juvenile events of this caliber have always been high on the list of popular attractions on this circuit and this years renewal of the Kindergarten should prove worthy of the consideration. Although the quantity of eligibles is not as great as last year when it was necessary to run the five-furlong dash in two sections, the quality may be higher. The main topic of conversation among local horsemen and racing fans this morning centers around Honeywell Farms Faneuil Miss. The brown daughter of Teddys Comet — Crawfish was purchased for ,200 from C. V. Whitneys consignment to a sale held at Belmont Park last summer by John Deveny, local contractor, who is the owner of Honeywell Farm. The smart running miss has been developed carefully by George Alexandra and May Blossom into one of the better juveniles ever to perform on the New England racing scene. Beginning her career at Gulfstream Park early last month, Faneuil Miss scored impressively over 10 non-winners. The filly was installed public choice in that race and needed :53% to win by three and one-half lengths. Alexandra waited until the opening day of the current meeting to start Faneuil Miss again and she obliged by overcoming early interference to establish a new track mark of :47.Vs for a half mile. Her margin of victory was approximately the same as in her debut and left no doubt in the minds of local observersas to the best juvenile on the grounds. Should Faneuil Miss overcome her tardiness in leaving the barrier, there is no telling how far and fast she will run against the better two-year-olds in the East. Saturdays test will be the most severe of her brief career but the fact that a small field will in all probability face the starter in quest of the ,000 added price, the Honeywell Farm miss should keep her * record intact. Main contention in the Kindergarten will probably be furnished by Mrs. F. A. Genters Unbridled, winner of his only start. The Unbreakable — Lark Song colt is well regarded by his connections and, unlike Faneuil Miss, leaves the barrier in high gear. Whether Unbridled can carry his speed far enough to withstand the challenge of Faneuil Miss should be decided when this pair meets in the Kindergarten. Others slated to oppose the above pair on Saturday are Audley Farms Little Cap- tain, R. B. Carrolls Mucho Mas, Collins and Hinkles Hell Bent, Murray Hill Farm* Dot H. and Irving Gushens Lefty Jim.
