Fairmount Raceway Handle Up Opening Night Over 48 COLLINSVILLE, 111., May 19.— Mildred Kniselys Hodgen, driven by Eddie Cobb, came from far back twice last night to capture both halves of the ,000 feature 14-class pace at the opening night of 1949 Grand Circuit harness racing at Fairmount Park here. The six-year-old bay stallion from Toledo, Ohio, paced the fastest race of the night in the sixth race mile event going in 2:03%. He went the one and one-sixteenth mile in 2:13%. The opening night crowd numbered 9,118, smaller than last years inaugural, but the betting hit 24,583, 5,611 better than on the same night in 1948. Hodgen paid .60 and .40, straight, in the two dashes.
