Faneuil Hall Handicap Lures Eleven Postward Outland Expected to Draw Bulk Of Support in Suffolk Offering By AVERY BROWN Staff Correspondent SUFFOLK DOWNS, East Boston, Mass.. June 2. — Eleven of the best middle distance runners in this sector have remained eligible through the entry box for tomorrows first renewal of the mile and a sixteenth Faneuil Hall Handicap at Suffolk Downs. Five of the group were starters in the recent Massachusetts Handicap won by the Greentree Stables One Hitter and off that race it would appear logical that Bar-Sue Stables Outland would be favored tomorrow. The five-year-old son of Bahram — Maradadi displayed a creditable performance in the big event and finished third, beaten a length and a half for all the money. Slated to vie against Outland in the Faneuil Hall are Cobbles Stables Abstract, 118; A. Cataldos Tilenny. G. S. Gladneys Bernie Moose, Mrs. True Davis, Jr.s, De Luxe, all at 114; Oakhurst Farms Brick, 112; Double M Farms Lambent, 110; Potato Chip Farms Fair Appraisal, 106; j E. E. Gaiges Peace Mission and L. Bar-bieris "Fly Around grouped at 104 and the lightweight of the field is Kajo Stables Blue Thanks at 101 pounds. Outland will carry 107 pounds, six more than he shouldered in the Massachusetts Handicap. Using the performance of the five better regarded members of tomorrows line-up in the Massachusetts, Outland fares even I better than he did in the big race. Lam-I bent, who finished fifth in that race, also I picks up six pounds as does Brick. The Bar-Sue representative gets a pound concession from Tilenny and two pounds in his favor from Abstract. Jockey Joe Spi-1 nale, who was astride Outland in his last I two outings, will again be in the irons. A decided threat in the handicap division when weighted at less than 110 pounds, is by no means a "flash in the pan." Last year he defeated Tilenny and 1 Mucho Mas in the Governors Handicap at : Narragansett Park and was right there in other blue ribboned engagements. The majority of his eight starts this season have been of high caliber despite the fact he has only accounted for one victory. That was in an overnight allowance test at this oval. Lambent has failed to win a race at the I current meeting but must be considered a threat in tomorrows line-up. The son of Sweeping Light accounted for a couple of victories in Florida since the beginning of the current year and was close up in other important engagements. Tilenny does his best running over a muddy racing strip but is always a danger on any type racing strip. The son of Selal-beda won six events last season to net I 1,090 for his youthful owner and thus far this year has a record of one victory, i a second and a third in seven starts. Abstract and De Luxe are the question marks in the Faneuil Hall. Each is regarded as an erratic performer capable of upsetting top flight handicap performers when in a running mood. At his peak last fall in Maryland, Abstract earned a starting post in the Pimlico Special. So far this I year the son of Isolater has accounted for three triumphs, two in allowance middle distance events and the other while carrying a price tag of ,500.
