Aurora Downs Nightly Average Up 2,003 Over 1950 Meeting Figures just released by the Illinois State Harness Racing Commission covering the recently completed meeting at Aurora Downs show that the track did better this season with a spring-summer meeting than they did last fall with the late dates. This years mutuel total for 34 nights amounted to ,192,164 in comparison to a year ago when it was ,335,605 for 41 nights. This makes a better showing when nightly averages are considered. In the meeting just closed Aurora officials realized a daily mutuel handle average of 3,887. In 1950 it was 1,884. Attendance showed a percentage increase according to unofficial figures over last year also when the turnstiles clicked for 96,292 patrons. Official crowd figures are not yet available for 1951. The Kane County oval suffered at the hands of the weather this past season with a total of eight nights rained out. Only two sessions were lost in 50 due to weather conditions.
