Chloe Leads Throughout In Monmouths Homeland By WILLIAM C. PHILLIPS Staff Correspondent MONMOUTH PARK, Oceanport, N. J., June 22. — Pentagon Stables Chloe broke in front of her field in the six furlongs Homeland Purse today and led throughout the featured test to score an easy victory of four and one-half lengths. J. M. Roeb-lings Admiral Drake held an advantage of better than two lengths over John L. McKnights Mr. Buster, who was third. Chloe returned .40 as a solid choice with the estimated gathering of 8,200 that, despite being the smallest crowd of the meeting, wagered briskly throughout the program. The track was exceedingly fast. Chloe turned in a fast race under jockey Jimmy Stout, being timed in a swift 1:10% and earlier, Mrs. Henry H. Hechts Blue Rhymer equalled the five furlongs course record. The Homeland, unfortunately, was not a true race. The start was bad, with Joe Gavegnanos Pensava practically left at the gate and Jay Cee Farms Bold Jo and H. W. Finchers Boodle also getting away poorly. Pensava ran what may be considered a winning race, coming from completely out of it and at one time was 20 lengths behind to finish fifth and beaten only about 10 lengths. In sepctacularly easy fashion, Mrs. Henry H. Hechts filly Blue Rhymer today equaled the five furlongs track record of :58y5 that was set by such a good colt as Lord Putnam here last year. Todays victress, a tall and sleek appearing daughter of The Rhymer and Blue Brandy, carried 114 pounds to her front-running triumph that was scored with an advantage of eight and a half lengths over her closest rival, Brook-meade Stables Springbuck.
