Janicki; bred by E. E. Watson. WENT TO POST— 5:17*. OFF AT 5:17* CENTRAL DAYLIGHT TIME. Start good from stall gate for all but INSIST. Won driving; second and third the same. CINDER KING, unhurried when outrun early, responded readily when called upon for the stretch run and was up in the final strides to outgame APPEASER. The latter reached the lead between calls during the drive and held on willingly in a sharp effort. ALUN sprinted into command nearing the furlong marker, then weakened. SILVER PLATE, much used early, had little left. FATE lacked a rally. PETES BEST was outrun. SULTANPEPPER failed to stay. INSIST began tardily and lost all chance. BURGOO MASTER quit to a walk.
