ALACRITY was lucky finding room on the inside and rapidly moved to the front under punishment on the far turn, opened a clear lead and was hard ridden to retain his margin. BLACKMONT, outrun and between horses, closed determinedly when hard punished for the drive. MINNEAPOLIS was rated within easy striking distance, made a bold move on the stretch turn and weakened. PRINCE CONSORT, outrun and trailing, was taken to the middle of the track tc make up ground late. FULLBLAST had early speed, but raced very wide in the drive and tired. WIDE MARGIN had no excuse. Won handily; second and third driving LUREMENOW was under snug restraint while with the pace, easily assumed command, then drew out under mild handling in the drive. LATE SHIP saved ground to be closer than usual, finished well, but was drifting out and could not menace the winner. RENOUNCE saved all possible ground while forcing the pace, then weakened. ALPHO gave an even effort. POMPOUS lacked early spede. PRICKLY was forced to race wide. GOOD J.00K gave a dull effort. RED POMPON was outrun. NEWTOWN lost ground on the outside and quit. WILD NED raced very wide and did not extend himself. Overweight— Santas Vixen, 1 pound; Wild Ned, 2. Luremenow claimed by J. L. Friedman. Attendance, 8,990; Total Mutuel Pool, 60,334
