SEDULOUS, in between horses while gaining a forward position, responded to late pressure and drew clear near the end. PORTENTOUS was forced to lose ground on the outside, rallied under pressure, but was not good enough. URANIUM was carried wide on the final turn. VALCOEUR AIME established the Dace to the stretch, but tired under late pressure DUBBLELL was used up forcing the pace. CRESSON KNIGHT went evenly. SENATOR C. was shuffled back early. The latter slipped through along the rail and was catching the winner. BERTHA ANN had her usual speed and stayed with the leader to the furlong pole before weakening. GAY GIFT went evenly. MEL HASH, reserved within striking distance of the pace, moved rapidly on the outside entering the stretch, overtook the leader and was good enough to hold JEANS JAY safe. The latter worked her way up aong the inside, was taken between horses in the stretch and finished stoutly. SICKLE SUE opened a comfortable lead scon after the start, saved ground, but shortened stride and was tiring. LIONHEART drove • through along the rail early to draw in closest attendance of the leader, then lacked a closing rally. JAIALAI was going well at the end. SHOTRAL had no mishap. ABBES FIRST circled the leaders on the final turn to assume command and was hard ridden to hold HARSAM safe. The latter improved position gradually, responded to late urging and was catching the winner. FIESTA assumed command before entering the stretch, then faltered. YARMOUTH FLARE was forwardly placed between horses, but lacked a closing drive. LADY DELL lacked early speed. WHIM WISE weakened from forcing the pace.
