BILL went to the front early, made the pace to the stretch while racing in the middle of the track, remained on the outside for the drive and held a clear advantage to the finish. KHAMS HOUR dropped back nearing the stretch, came again when set down in the drive, but could not get to the winner. DANADA RED lacked early speed, saved ground at the stretch turn and closed resolutely under punishment. MONOLITH began fast, raced with LT. BILL to the stretch, then faltered. BIG CASINO made a good bid entering the stretch, but tired during the drive. BEN DAVIS disliked the muddy track. CLEANED could not handle the soft going. ROOTIN TOOTIN was through early. DONQUEST lacked early foot, but steadily improved position after the opening quarter mile, responded to punishment entering the stretch and, after taking command, held BEAU KOO safe. The latter drifted out at the final turn, closed willingly when straight for the drive, but could not overtake the top one, although easily best of the others. BOTHER raced evenly to the stretch and made up ground during the final quarter mile. OUT BOUND JR., much used racing MIARIELJOE into defeat, faltered after reaching the lead. MIARIELJOE had early speed, race with OUT BOUND JR. for a half mile, then weakened. PLAY SURE tired. ARTLESS began slowly. UNCLE SI showed nothing. BIG DANCE was through early. PIXIE PAT, alertly ridden, assumed command at once, raced by ALONZO B. entering the stretch and drew clear, winning with something left. PALLIS ROYAL lacked early speed, finished fast under punishment, but could not get to the top one. KING PIGEON held on well and had no mishap. GO AT IT, roughed leaving the backstretch and taken up sharply, came again when clear, but could not reach the leaders. MISTER MAC was outrun. HAPPY OMEN could not handle the muddy track. OUR PEGGY, in close quarters throughout, tired during the stretch run. GOLD SABRE raced greenly. ALONZO B., away slowly, was hustled fast after the start to reach PIXIE PAT raced with the latter to the stretch, but had nothing left for the drive. GOLDEN-FLEET made a mild bid entering the stretch, was unable to threaten the winner, but held PRISSY MARY safe. PRISSY MARY could not better her position when set down through the stretch.
