SUNNYLAND broke alertly, was brought to the inside when clear on the turn, disposed of the leaders on the rail and drew clear. HADASSAH, a sharp contender while between horses, threatened for command in the stretch, but was not good enough. ZACA DAYS was forced to race slightly wide while forwardly placed and weakened in the drive. FLUSHING DUSK tired after showing good early speed. WOLF BAIT was in close quarters repeatedly. STAR BAND, carried wide leaving the turn, lugged in badly through the drive. DENNY was bothered while between horses. TOT C. was pinched back in the run to the turn. QUIRINUS, with the first flight from the start, went through on the rail to obtain command and won easily. HOWARD DEAR held the lead by a narrow advantage op the inside, bore out and bumped with SHALLOW BROOK entering the stretch and held en best of the others. WILD TIP, slow to begin, went through on the inside with a rush when gaining best stride. TITLE HOLDER saved ground early, came out leaving the turn, but lacked a rally. SHALLOW BROOK was bumped entering the stretch and failed to recover. SKY BLUE eased between horses when in a trifle close on the backstretch. HAPPY DEVIL was outrun. UNDER ORDERS ran wide on the turn. SLEEPY HOLLOW went out on the turn, then swerved to the inside very sharply in midstretch. GOOD WILLIN quit. AFTON PRINCE went into the lead when straightened on the backstretch, drew out when hard punished and won fully extended. LIFTER, unhurried in the opening stages, saved ground while going between horses and was getting to the winner. IMPISH PETER was sent through a narrow opening on the rail along the backstretch, had to be steadied when lacking room on the final turn and failed to rally in the drive. DEAR BOOTS, with the pace until midstretch. faltered. HERE HE IS tired. JOIE DE VIVRE was through after six furlongs. FLASH OF LIGHT quit. Scratched— 30891 Azora, 113. FOURTH RACE 3-4 MILE. FIRST GLANCE went a trifle wide going into the turn, was forced extremely wide leaving the elbow, closed with a rush and drew clear after reaching command in the late stages. MIGHTY QUEST, rated after breaking fast, swung out from the rail leaving the turn, then finished resolutely. BIG IF went through on the inside in the drive and finished with good courage. SQUARED AWAY broke poorly, was much used to establish a clear advantage and weakened in the final sixteenth. IAMARELIC made the pace between calls on the backstretch and tired badly in the final furlong. LIBERTY RAB, forced wide by MIGHTY QUEST, dropped back. Overweight— Big If, 2 pounds. PINTOR, on nearly even terms for the lead on the outside nearing the turn, was eased back to save ground rounding the turn, went up on the outside in the drive and wore down JET MASTER in the final stride. The latter did not break as alertly as usual, obtained command shortly after the start, drew clear entering the turn and maintained a clear advantage until the stretch, then faltered slightly under hard punishment in the closing sixteenth mile. COUNT FLAME, eased back between horses early, went out slightly on the turn, made a willing bid in the stretch and weakened. EVANS MOUNTAIN lugged in along the backstretch, came out leaving the final turn and finished willingly ARMELLE tired. CAMPANILLEO caught tired horses.
